Educational Support Professionals

For years, ND United has championed Education Support Professionals (ESPs), their efforts to gain better benefits and full recognition as accomplished professionals.

Education Support Professionals strengthen our schools, communities, and associations across the country. They play an important role on the education team and in the lives of students both inside and outside of the classroom. They keep our schools running and our students safe, healthy, and ready to learn every day.

Through collective action and coordination with local education associations, our ESP members have been able to steer compensation levels up across the state and improve working conditions for all support staff.

ESP Professions

ESPs are represented by nine career families, including:

  • Clerical services
  • Custodial and maintenance services
  • Food services
  • Health and student services
  • Paraeducators
  • Security services
  • Skilled trades
  • Technical services
  • Transportation services

They are workers who strengthen our schools, communities, and associations in every North Dakota community. They play an integral role within our union, and in the lives of the students they care so deeply for, both inside and outside the classroom.
