2021-22 Scholarship and Grant Recipients

In May, the NDU Foundation announced that 35 North Dakota United members and dependents had been selected to receive more than $35,000 total in scholarships and grants.

Here is the complete list of 2022 NDU Foundation scholarship and grant recipients:

Jared Adams

Jared Adams is the recipient of the Joseph A. Westby Leadership Award for his master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.

Stetson Baker

Stetson Baker, an undergraduate education major at Turtle Mountain Community College, has been awarded the NDU Foundation Ethnic Minority Scholarship.

Brooklyn Bang

Brooklyn Bang, an undergraduate education major at Dickinson State University, has been awarded the Les Snavely Memorial Education Scholarship.

Malayna Barendt

Malayna Barendt has been awarded a NDU Education Scholarship for her undergraduate degree in education from Lake Region State College.

Candace Brannan

Candace Brannan has been awarded a Ron & Ann Anstrom Scholarship for her graduate degree in English from Murray State University in Kentucky.

Rusty Dan

Rusty Dan, an undergraduate education major at Dickinson State University, has been awarded the NDU Foundation Ethnic Minority Scholarship.

Madison Elliott

Madison Elliott has been awarded the NDU Member/Dependent Scholarship for her undergraduate degree in education from Minot State University.

Lauren Feist

Lauren Feist, an undergraduate nursing major at North Dakota State University, has been awarded the NDU Member/Dependent Scholarship.

Shelby Follman

Shelby Follman has been awarded a Cindy & Gary Rath Education Scholarship for her undergraduate degree in education from Mayville State University.

Jacqueline Glasser

Jacqueline Glasser is the recipient of the NDU Workplace Innovation Grant to make Lit Kits to provide hands-on learning opportunities for her Kindergarten students and their parents/caregivers in Dickinson.

Lisa Gusewelle

Lisa Gusewelle has been awarded a Horace Mann ND Agents Graduate Education Scholarship for a graduate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Dakota

Jesslyn Hall

Jesslyn Hall, an elementary music teacher from Hazen, has been awarded the Halstenson Family Music Scholarship for her graduate program at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

Heather Hintz

Heather Hintz is the recipient of the NDU Workplace Innovation Grant to make Lit Kits to purchase a durable computer cart for her elementary classroom in Bismarck.

Lora Horner

Lora Horner has been awarded a Ron & Ann Anstrom Scholarship for her graduate degree in English from Valley City State University.

Katelyn Johnson

Katelyn Johnson, an undergraduate studying education at the Mayville State University, has been awarded a Cindy & Gary Rath Education Scholarship and a NDU Education Scholarship.

Oliva Johnston

Oliva Johnston, a nursing student at Bismarck State College, has been awarded the NDU Foundation Ethnic Minority Scholarship.

Ashley Kaiser

Ashley Kaiser has been awarded a NDU Education Scholarship for her undergraduate degree in education from the University of Mary.

Kendra Kaufman

Kendra Kaufman, an undergraduate education major at Dickinson State University, has been awarded the Les Snavely Memorial Education Scholarship.

Alyssa Kemp

Alyssa Kemp, an undergraduate environmental engineering major at Drexel University, has been awarded the NDU Member/Dependent Scholarship.

Chanci Kraft has been awarded the NDU Member/Dependent Scholarship for her undergraduate degree in education from Black Hills State University.

Kelsey Kreidt

Kelsey Kreidt, an undergraduate studying special education at Minot State University, has been awarded a Cripps Special Education Scholarship and an Oban Special Education Scholarship.

Madalyn LaVallie

Madalyn LaVallie, an undergraduate studying social work and psychology at the University of Minnesota Moorhead, has been awarded a NDU Foundation Ethnic Minority Scholarship.

Mason Lemer

Mason Lemer, an undergraduate chemistry major at Minot State University, has been awarded the NDU Member/Dependent Scholarship.

David Locken

David Locken has been awarded a Horace Mann ND Agents Graduate Education Scholarship for a graduate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Dakota.

Gillian Lunde

Gillian Lunde has been awarded a NDU Foundation Ethnic Minority Scholarship for her studies in cosmetology at Josef’s School of Hair, Skin, & Body in Grand Forks.

Charles McWethy

Charles McWethy has been awarded a Cripps Special Education Scholarship and an Oban Special Education Scholarship for his graduate degree in Special Education from the University of North Dakota.

Rory Neary

Rory Neary has been awarded a NDU Education Scholarship for his undergraduate degree in education from the University of Mary.

Sarah Peeters

Sarah Peeters has been awarded a Ron & Ann Anstrom Scholarship for her graduate degree in math from Valley City State University.

Brooke Peterson

Brooke Peterson, an undergraduate studying education at the University of Mary, has been awarded a Cindy & Gary Rath Education Scholarship and a NDU Education Scholarship.

Megan Rising

Megan Rising has been awarded the NDU Member/Dependent Scholarship for her undergraduate degree in surgical technology from Bismarck State University.

Jordan Rohrbach

Jordan Rohrbach, an undergraduate education major at Valley City State University, has been awarded a Cindy & Gary Rath Education Scholarship.

Alexandra Smith

Alexandra Smith has been awarded the NDU Member/Dependent Scholarship for her undergraduate degree in education from North Dakota State University.

Ryan Strande has been awarded the NDU Member/Dependent Scholarship for her undergraduate degree in education from Mayville State University.

Skylar Uglem

Skylar Uglem, an undergraduate psychology major at North Dakota State University, has been awarded the NDU Member/Dependent Scholarship.

Jarred Wagner

Jarred Wagner has been awarded a Horace Mann ND Agents Graduate Education Scholarship for a graduate degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Northwest Missouri State University.

The NDU Foundation is an independent not-for-profit corporation which receives it funding from the earnings on five named endowments, memorials and other gifts from members and supporters of Public Education and Public Service in North Dakota.  The 11,500 members of NDU annually assess themselves $4 to operate the Foundation.
