The State Treasurer serves as a member on a number of influential boards for North Dakota United members including the Teachers Fund for Retirement, the State Investment Board, and the Board of University and School Lands. We want to be sure you have some basic information about the two candidates in the contested Republican primary on June 9th. The winner of that primary will face the Democratic nominee, Mark Haugen, in the November general election.
Rep. Tom Beadle:
- Scored an average of 78% for the 2017 & 2019 NDU Legislative Voting Records
- Attended the candidate interview with United PAC (NDU’s political action committee) and pointed to his decade of service in the state legislature, his familiarity with the appropriations process, and showed a firm understanding of the importance of pension plans for recruiting and retaining educators and state employee
Rep. Daniel Johnston:
- Scored an average of 9% for the 2017 & 2019 NDU Legislative Voting Records
- Did not interview with the United PAC and did not respond to several contacts to set up an interview
