Mini-Courses are short duration trainings that consist of a 2-hour webinar presentation/discussion plus a short reflection paper.
FIVE mini-course sessions plus reflection papers per session equal ONE credit.
Mini-Courses will be offered weekly from 7:00-9:00 PM via ZOOM.
Mini-course sessions will begin September 29, 2021 and run through March 8, 2022.
Teachings of Our Elders sessions will be presented on Tuesdays.
All other sessions will be presented on Wednesdays.
Register and pay an initial fee ($50) for access to the course and participate in any or all sessions.
Once you register, the ZOOM link will be emailed to you.
Participate (live or recorded) in the ZOOM webinar.
Write a reflective paper.
For credit, participants must participate in 5 sessions (live or recorded).

Topics and dates:
Reading Basics Part 1: (1 credit) These mini-course sessions will discuss different aspects of The Science of Reading. Ideas and tips on how to teach different areas of Reading will be given.

Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia and How they Affect Learning: (1 credit) These mini-course sessions offer a look at what dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia are and how they affect how students learn. Information about what to look for and teaching tips will be given. The facilitator is an Orton-Gillingham certified instructor.

Prevalent Student Diagnoses: (1 credit) These mini-course sessions will provide information on relevant/prevalent diagnoses that our students have such as ADHD, OCD, anxiety, and autism spectrum disorder. Information about what to look for and strategies will be shared.

Teachings of Our Elders Part 1: (1 credit) These mini-course sessions will provide information about Native American history in our state. Curricular expectations for classrooms will begin in 2025.

General Education 2022: (1 credit) Combination of ANY five sessions with reflective papers. This can be utilized for up to three credit(s).
