Greetings NDUnited!

A great deal has been happening of late regarding COVID 19 vaccinations.

We now have three viable and reliable vaccines from Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson and in many places across North Dakota, our friends and neighbors in high priority vaccination groups are receiving vaccinations at an increased pace.

In many areas of our state, K-12 personnel, and others in the Phase 1B are being vaccinated, as well.  As more vaccine arrives in the state and more logistical hurdles are cleared, we will see the vaccination rate climb ever higher and at a faster pace than ever.

Below is an updated version of the letter that Superintendent of Public Instruction, Kirsten Baesler, and I sent to teachers a few weeks ago.  Please read it and share it widely.

March 2, 2021

Dear North Dakota Educators,

We remain committed to providing you with important updates that allow you to better protect your health and well-being.

Our partners at NDDoH informed us that many North Dakota providers (including Thrifty White Pharmacy) are offering vaccinations to ANYONE in Phase 1B! The Vaccine Locator is consistently being updated to reflect the most current vaccine availability. If you plan to receive the vaccination, we encourage you to use this tool to check the availability in your area.

We know that educators are accustomed to putting the needs of others before their own, but if you would want the vaccine and you meet the criteria of a higher priority group, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of vaccine availability at your earliest convenience.

NDDPI, ND United, and the ND Healthy Return to Learning Team will continue to provide you with updated information as it is made available. We know this has been a trying year for many of you and we are deeply appreciative of your continued efforts to support North Dakota students.

Sincerely,

Nick Archuleta

President, North Dakota United

and

Kirsten Baesler

State Superintendent, North Dakota Department of Public Instruction
