This afternoon, the North Dakota Senate struck down SB 2288 by a 16-30 vote.
SB 2288 was a voucher bill that would have created a multi-million dollar hole in the state budget by allowing wealthy North Dakotans to receive large tax credits for their contributions to private schools – potentially leading to larger classes sizes, heavier workloads, and fewer course offerings at our public schools.
